This toy garbage can was one of the first ones I purchased, but I didn’t know when I bought it. It wasn’t just for kids to play with, but for adults to use in their homes. I used to work at an air conditioning repair company, so I would spend a lot of time cleaning and doing other maintenance on my home. It was the job I liked, so I was happy to use it.
The first time I used it was for a month of cleaning my home. You know that feeling after you’ve clean your house for a while that you hate it? It was just that bad. I hated it, and I wanted to get out of it. I took my garbage can, and my two garbage cans, and I started walking around my house, emptying the garbage in my garbage cans into the cans that I had just filled with my stuff.
Sounds like a fun way to clean up your home, but I don’t know if it makes you feel any better. First off, it’s not really a real garbage can. It’s a rubber toy model that’s designed to look like a garbage can. It’s kind of a cheap imitation, but if you look closely you will notice that it really looks like a garbage can. So you shouldn’t really be putting your trash in your garbage can.
Well, you might want to. If I were to go around my house and throw all my trash in the garbage can, I wouldn’t be able to figure out where my trash had gone to. I would just start to wonder if it was a different area than where I had just emptied it, and then I would start to worry that my trash was still where it had been or maybe where it had been.
This is one of those “you’ll get eaten by the garbage truck” scenarios. You can tell you are at least a few blocks from the garbage truck because it moves very slowly and is made out of plastic. But if you are out in the middle of nowhere and you want to throw your trash in the garbage truck, don’t do it. It’s a waste of time and money.
I’m not really advocating throwing your trash into the garbage truck, I’m just saying that you really should avoid it if you can. I’ve been there… and I’ve had that happen. A few people have actually had their trash eaten by the truck but I’ve had the weirdest experience of all.
My aunt had the best garbage-truck experience of all! We were out in the middle of nowhere and there was nowhere to put our trash and she was talking trash and throwing it at the garbage truck. It was hilarious. She was laughing and she told me it was like I was talking trash to myself. And of course when the trash truck came, she threw all of her other trash at it and then we all went to see what was in her trash.
The garbage truck is really a toy. It has the ability to dump a certain amount of trash in each individual bin. However, when you get to the front of the truck, the garbage truck will automatically stop and you have to dump all your trash in this “garbage-truck”. Once you do this, the truck stops and you have to figure out what to do next.
Toy garbage cans are basically the same as regular garbage cans — they can be cleaned by putting them in a sink, but not so much that you have to wash them. That said, they might be a little more durable, and more importantly, they are actually really cheap. They don’t have the same industrial design as the real thing, but they are cheap enough, and that’s one of the reasons they are a really good idea.
Its funny how garbage cans are often used as an example of the difference between “real” and “fake” technology — real technology is made from real materials, but fake ones are made from cheap plastic.
