For those of you who just had to hear this, thank you! I actually had to turn the blog back on for a moment.
Turns out that turning on the blog was a mistake. I was just searching the blog in the morning when it started crashing.
I know it’s not the most glamorous job, but I do it all the time. My “real” job is writing. I work on a freelance basis, and also run a small business. So I have a computer, and I check my email. It’s not always easy, but it’s doable and I’m not complaining.
Turn on the blog? Really? I thought this was a normal thing? I mean, that’s not how I live my life and you’d think it wouldn’t be a big deal, but I guess I’m used to this.
Actually, you do need to check your emails. I know mine are pretty important, but I don’t do that too often. If you can’t find something, then you don’t have to worry about it. If you click on a link, it will load a new browser window and ask you if you want to open it or save it. If you answer yes, then you get to open that tab and read whatever it is you were looking for.
This is so true.
And when we do this, we’re actually putting ourselves in danger. The most important part of the Deathloop website is the email address, so when you want to save a page, it says that you need to answer the question “are you sure you want to save this page?” If you answer yes, then you can, er, save it. If you answer no, then you can continue to have a look at it but you have to answer the question again and then save it.
The game is set in the 1940s so I find this part especially interesting. The email address is a direct nod to the fact that the 1940s might have been a more advanced time, so many of the ideas and elements of the game would have seemed odd to us in the 40s. It also points out the many changes that have occurred in our society since then, how we’ve become more technologically advanced, how the world has been influenced by technology.
The actual game itself should be pretty much the same as the original title, except it’s a bit more elaborate. At one point it was even slightly different than the previous version, but it also includes a lot of more original elements. The main reason that the game is so fun is because it’s so much more accessible. Our first game was a simple, but fun-to-play version of the original title that was only half-examples of what the original game is.
